IBA students to get ICAB’s credit exemption facilities

The students of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University will be allowed credit exemption in a number of subjects under the curriculum of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
They will enjoy the facilities under a 'prior credit learning programme' of the ICAB.
In this regard, the ICAB and the IBA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at a ceremony at IBA Auditorium in the capital on Wednesday.
Director of IBA Prof. Syed Ferhat Anwar and ICAB President A F Nesaruddin inked the MoU on behalf of their respective institutes.
Under the MoU, graduate and post-graduate students of the IBA will be eligible for the exemption in subjects under ICAB curriculum - accounting, management information, business and finance, business and commercial law and information technology - upon fulfilling specific criteria.
The ICAB and the IBA-Dhaka University came into this collaboration with a view to cooperating with each other through combining expertise and resources, and to accelerate the development of the accountancy and finance professions in Bangladesh.
This MoU is also intended to facilitate the students to enter the ICAB's Chartered Accountancy study and to work in any other areas relating to education, training, workshop, research, higher study as mutually agreed by the two institutes.
MBA programme Coordinator Professor Md. Mohiuddin, ICAB vice presidents N K A Mobin and Md. Moniruzzaman, council members Mahmudul Hasan Khusru and Md. Forkan Uddin and Secretary Major General (Retd) Muhammad Imrul Quayes were also present at the agreement-signing ceremony.
