ICC Bangladesh organised a daylong workshop on 'Capacity building of MSMEs and Women Entrepreneurs for using ICC Rules in International Trade' at a hotel in Chattogram on Saturday.
The workshop has been designed for the benefits of MSMEs and women entrepreneurs who are engaged in international trade, particularly in export of non-traditional goods. The workshop provided the participants with the opportunity to learn about ICC Rules on international trade and understand the complex global trade finance scenario as well as how to take correct decisions to avoid the risk of settlements of L/Cs, says a press release.
The workshop was organised under ICC HQs. Capacity-building projects will help SMEs and women entrepreneurs to understand various ICC rules such as UCP 600, Incoterms 2020, and ISBP, which are to be followed in the export-import business. Under the capacity-building project, ICC Bangladesh has so far organised four workshops since 2024, which have been attended by 300 SME participants and women entrepreneurs.
ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman inaugurated the workshop, while A T M Nesarul Hoque, Executive Vice President of Mutual Trust Bank, conducted it. A total of 95 participants, comprising bankers, women entrepreneurs and SMEs, attended the workshop.
