The Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI) accorded a reception to the newly appointed Ambassador of the Philippines to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T Bandillo at a city hotel recently, said a press statement.
Commercial Counsellor of Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines John Paul B Inigo, President of BPCCI Engr Rashed Maksud Khan, President of ICC Bangladesh Mahbubur Rahman and DCCI President Shahjahan Khan were present on the occasion.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the members of the BPCCI and assured of full support and cooperation in promoting business between the two countries.
Engr Rashed Maksud Khan laid emphasis on the importance of bi-lateral chamber in promoting direct business between any two countries, especially for those in the same region.
Narrating the economic achievements of the two countries, Mahbubur Rahman focused on close cooperation with the two countries in sectors like education, information technology (IT), fashion design, town planning, building structures and medical technology and a number of other service sectors.
He expressed his gratitude to BPCCI members and suggested to move fast in undertaking visits to the Philippines for meeting the business people in Philippines and ascertaining their needs first.
John Paul B Inigo expressed the hope that the volume of trade could be enhanced to a minimum 1.00 million dollar within a year.
Shahjahan Khan assured the BPCCI of providing all kinds of support to the BPCCI whenever needed and expressed that promoting business and developing economy of the country is the common goal of all the chambers.
