A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), headed by its President Mohammed Salim, FCMA, met Pay and Services Commission Chairman Dr Mohammed Farashuddin in the city recently, said a press release.
The ICMAB president apprised the commission chairman of the role of cost and management accountants and their contribution towards the establishment of transparency, accountability and corporate governance in the business and industrial sectors of our country.
At the discussion session, the ICMAB president proposed a few points for due consideration of the commission.
The proposal includes providing accommodation/housing facilities for the retired government officials, arrangement of health insurance scheme in lieu of medical allowances for the government officials and provision for tax return benefits for persons employed in the private sectors for paying significant amount of taxes in a particular fiscal year.
The proposal also includes providing special increments for the professional accountants like other professionals, a separate compensation package on contract basis to attract the professional accountants in the government sectors, enhancement of education allowance for the government officials, enhancement of conveyance allowance on rational basis to the government officials and interest-free car/motorcycle loan to the government officials who are entitled to get transport facilities.
The commission chairman agreed to consider the said proposals with due respect.
Among others, ICMAB Council Member and its past president Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, FCMA, Director Lieutenant Colonel Md Humayun Kabir, psc (retd), Additional Director KM Bahauddin and Additional Director Mirza Mostafa Walid were present at the meeting.
