ICMAB seeks CIMA, UK help to improve exam system

Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has sought support and cooperation of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK to improve its examination system.
ICMAB President Mohamed Salim, FCMA made the appeal while a delegation of the CIMA, UK consisting of Regional Director Bradly Emerson and Country Manager Zarina Matin met the office-bearers of ICMAB in the city recently, said a press release.
They exchanged views on bilateral matters during the meeting. The ICMAB president welcomed the members of the delegation and informed about the initiatives undertaken by the ICMAB to set up an international information technology (IT)-based professional standard in cost & management accounting education in Bangladesh in line with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) guideline.
He also informed the delegation that the ICMAB is developing its new syllabus and also preparing study materials.
In response, the CIMA, UK delegation assured the ICMAB officials of their continued support for strengthening the bondage of professional relationship, exploring the areas of bilateral interest and also finding other fields of mutual cooperation between these two professional bodies.
Among others, vice presidents of ICMAB ASM Shaykhul Islam, FCMA and Arif Khan, FCMA, Treasurer Md Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA and Consultant Nikhil Chandra Shil, FCMA were present at the meeting.
