The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) organised webinar on "Islami banking and financing- an emerging need of promoting corporate governance in the banking sector" at a virtual platform on Saturday, said a press release.
Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah, managing director and CEO, Exim Bank Limited, was present as the chief guest and main discussant while, Md Shafiqul Alam FCMA, FCA, ACS, council member and chairman, seminar and conference sub-Committee of the Institute, moderated the session.
Muzaffar Ahmed FCMA, FCS, president of the Institute, presented the keynote paper.
Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah said that Islamic banking system is gaining its popularity day by day. He also discussed about the brief history and different methods of Islami products. He also expressed his hope that Sukkuk, an Islami product of long term finance will get a place as a mode of long term Finance in the country.
