ICT-related project implementation reaches 2.57pc by August

The implementation progress of ICT-related projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) reached 2.57 per cent nationally and 11.67 per cent within the Department of Posts and Telecommunications by August.
These figures are from the National Progress Index in the Monitoring and Evaluation Report for the fiscal year 2024-25.
This information was disclosed at a review meeting held on Wednesday, with Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications Dr Mushfiqur Rahman in the chair.
The meeting discussed the implementation of decisions made in previous sessions and reviewed the status of ongoing projects.
Sources indicated that while national progress stood at 2.57 percent for the fiscal year 2024-25 up until September, the Department of Posts and Telecommunications showed more notable advancement at 11.67 percent.
However, Dr Rahman expressed that despite the department's progress exceeding the national average, there is little room for complacency.
He noted that several ongoing projects have stalled due to funding shortages, emphasizing that work could be expedited if financial allocations are secured.
In his comments on the overall performance of the ministry, Dr. Rahman revealed that the physical progress of all projects under the Department of Posts and Telecommunications is approximately 20 per cent for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
He urged all project managers to execute their responsibilities with integrity and dedication to ensure timely completion.
During the meeting, project managers and heads of offices and organizations under the department provided updates on their respective projects and discussed implementation plans moving forward.
