IDCOL-financed 18.69 MWp rooftop solar project of Akij Ceramics Ltd inaugurated

The 18.69 MWp rooftop solar project of Akij Ceramics Ltd financed by Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) was inaugurated in Trishal today, marking a major step in Bangladesh's industrial clean energy transition. Ulrich Kleppmann, Head of Development Cooperation, German Embassy Dhaka, attended the event as the chief guest, while Michael Sumser-Hellstern, Director, KfW, Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director& CEO, IDCOL, and S. K. Bashir Uddin, Managing Director, Akij Bashir Group were also present. The Tk 1.0147 billion project, of which approximately Tk 768.3 million was financed by IDCOL, is expected to generate 19,500 MWh of clean electricity annually and reduce 14,626 tons of CO? emissions each year. Of the total capacity, 10 MWp is already connected to the national grid through net metering.
