IDCOL, GEA sign deal

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) signed a financing agreement with Gram er Alo Limited (GEA) for setting up a 158.3 kW solar mini-grid Project at Narayanpur Union, Nageshwari, Kurigram, said a statement.
Executive director & CEO of IDCOL Mahmood Malik and chairman & CEO of GEA ASM Abdul Motin signed the deal on behalf of their respective organisations in the city recently.
Under the project, GEA will provide electricity to adjacent 609 households and 145 commercial entities. Total cost of the project is Tk 62.7 million.
IDCOL will provide 30 per cent of the project cost as soft loan and 50 per cent as grant under IDCOL's Renewable Energy Programme.
IDCOL has a vision to finance 1550 solar irrigation pumps, 50 solar mini grids, 450 bio-electricity plants and 30 biomass gasification based power plants by 2016.
