Indian textile exhibition opens in city today

A two-day Indian textile exhibition 'Intexpo Bangladesh 2014' begins in Dhaka today Monday at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in the city.
The organisers announced this at a press conference Sunday in presence of business delegates from India and Bangladesh.
The exhibition has been jointly organised by the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) of India and Indian High Commission (IHC) in Bangladesh.
Mirza Azam, state minister textiles and jute is likely to open the exhibition.
The SRTEPC India convener Sanjib Saran, executive director V Anil Kumar, IHC first secretary (commerce) Bijoy Selveraj, India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) president Mohammad Ali and other officials were present at the press conference.
In the programme 22 top Indian textile companies will showcase both machines and textile products.
The products include suiting, shirting, dress making equipments, embroidered dresses, fine fashion fabrics, home textiles and other homemade products.
The SRTEPC India convener Sanjib Saran said Bangladeshi visitors and business people would get an idea about Indian dresses made of quality fabrics and yarns.
The exhibition would be open to public from 10am to 7pm every day.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) are supporting the programme.
