Int'l food & agro expo begins in city March 21

The third edition of 'Food & Agro Bangladesh International Expo 2018' begins at the International Convention City Bashun-dhara in the capital on March 21.

CEMS USA in association with CEMS Bangladesh has organised the four-day event for the third consecutive year with the theme 'Safe food and clean environment through sustainable agriculture'.

The exposition serves as a platform for the entire south and southeast Asian countries to showcase their innovations in the food and agriculture sector, organisers said at a press conference at the National Press Club in the city on Monday.

Leading international brands and manufacturers of local and foreign machineries will display their products and services at the exhibition.

Around 130 exhibitors from nine countries will showcase packaging equipment and materials, food processing equipment, organic agricultural products and agricultural equipment, said the organisers.

The exhibition will remain open from 10:30am to 8:30pm daily till March 24.

CEMS Global - Asia Pacific Singapore, CEMS China, CEMS India, CEMS Lanka and CEMS Indonesia are cooperating with the organisers to organise the fair.

Meherun N Islam, Group President and Managing Director, CEMS Global USA & Asia Pacific, spoke the press conference. Anwar Faruque, former Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Tanveer Qamrul Islam, Executive Director, CEMS Bangladesh, were also present.
