JS body for development in new char lands

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Water Resources Ministry on Wednesday recommended the government to undertake more development programmes in newly accreted lands (chars) in the coastal regions under the Char Development and Settlement Project, reports UNB.

The parliamentary body came up with the suggestion at its 10th meeting held with the committee chairman Ramesh Chandra Sen in the chair at the Jatiya Sangsad, said a press release.

At the meeting, a report on environmental impact assessment studies of different Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) projects to be implemented was placed and discussed.
