JS body for speedy execution of projects

The parliamentary standing committee on housing and public works ministry on Sunday reviewed the ongoing urban projects and future plans of major cities.

The parliamentary watchdog discussed various urban projects at its sixth meeting at Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman Engineer Mosharraf Hossain in the chair, said a ministry press release, reports BSS.

The meeting also discussed the overall progress of the ongoing projects of RAJUK, Khulna Development Authority (KDA), Chattogram Development Authority (CDA), Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA), Cox's Bazar Development Authority, National Housing Authority, City Development Department and House Building Research Institute.

The meeting was informed that the concerned authorities and agencies are working relentlessly to complete the projects within the stipulated time.

The committee recommended speedy action in eradicating water clogging in Chattogram.

The meeting also recommended the authorities of the major cities to coordinate with each other and ensure clarity to continue the smooth flow of development in the cities.
