JU wins in DRC-ICAB Quiz Biz 2018

A quiz contest to inspire the meritorious students related to Chartered Accountancy (CA) was held at CA Bhaban recently where 32 students from 16 prominent public and private universities participated, according to a statement.
Tania Ahmed and Md. Shahnewaj from Accounting Department of Jahangirnagar University became the champions while Farah Haque and Fahmid Chowdhury of Accounting and Information System (AIS) Department of Dhaka University became the 1st runners up and Ariful Islam and Sifat Mahmudul Islam from Kabi Nazrul Islam University became 2nd runners up.
The quiz contest was organised by the Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
ICAB President Dewan Nurul Islam FCA handed over the crests, certificates and the prize money to the winners.
Mr Islam said that according to a World Bank estimate Bangladesh needs 18, 000 Chartered Accountants to build digitalised and prosperous country. The aim of this contest is to inspire the students to study CA and to promote transparency and accountability in the financial sector of the country.
ICAB vice presidents Mahmudul Hasan Khusru FCA, Md Mahamud Hosain FCA, Secretary Maj Gen Muhammad Imrul Quayes, ndc, psc (Retd), DRC chairman Md Ali Akther Rezvi FCA and other members of DRC also attended the programme.
