Mahbubur Rahman, 9 others win Mercantile Bank Award

Mercantile Bank Limited celebrated its 15th anniversary at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city Monday.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion and presented the Mercantile Bank Achievement Award-2014 to 10 prominent personalities and one organisation for their immense contribution in respective areas.
The winners are Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed -Economics & Economics Research,  Mahbubur Rahman - Industry and Trade,  A.F. Salahuddin Ahmed - Education, Valerie Ann Taylor - Medical, Mustafa Monowar - Culture,  Selina Hossain -Bangla language and literature, Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) A K Khandker, Bir Uttom - Research on Liberation War,  Nurjahan Begum - Journalism,  Zobera Rahman Linu - Sports,  Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA)- Agricultural research and development and  Dr. Ainun Nishat  - Science and Technology. The event was presided over by the Chairman of Mercantile Bank Limited Mr. M. Amanullah. All Directors, Sponsors, Managing Director, Additional Managing Directors, Deputy Managing Directors and banking & business professionals were present, according to a press release.
