KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 (Xinhua): The sales value of Malaysia's manufacturing sector in April rose 7.7 per cent on year, official statistics showed.
According to a report by the country's Department of Statistics on Wednesday, the sales value increased to 53.2 billion Malaysian ringgit (about US$17 billion) from 49.4 billion Malaysian ringgit (about $16.4 billion) a year ago. The sector posted a stronger number due to the higher transaction value from refined petroleum products, as well as electric and electronic components, the report said.
