Malindo Air regrets inconvenience

FE Report | October 22, 2014 00:00:00

Malindo Air has apologized to all its passengers 'who have been adversely affected and inconvenienced' by the recent delays and rescheduling of its flights.

Mr. M. Gunasekar, country manager, Malindo Air- Bangladesh, in a press release made available to the FE Tuesday said the delays and rescheduling were caused by simultaneous unscheduled grounding of three aircraft of the fleet due to technical reasons on October 12 last. This had affected the entire Malindo network operation during a key holiday season.

The airliner returned to normal operation on October 17 last following immediate recovery efforts, he said.

Mr. Gunasekar claimed that since introduction of Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka flight on August 28, 2013, until the day of incidence (October 12, 2014) the Malindo had a track record of 95 per cent on time performance.

However, the troubles with Malindo Air flights between Dhaka and KL started from October 07 last when it cancelled the scheduled flight to KL, according passengers.
