Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engr Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said Tuesday in Parliament said the process to send manpower to the UAE might begin very shortly, reports UNB.
Responding to a supplementary question of AFM Bahauddin Nasim, he said that a high-powered team of UAE is likely to visit Bangladesh in the last week of the current month (March).
"The team will have a meeting with us and we are hoping that after that meeting, we'll be able to send our manpower again (to UAE)."
Currently, the UAE has stopped taking manpower from seven countries including Bangladesh.
In this connection, the Expatriates Welfare Minister said that the UAE government is now under tremendous pressure because of excessive population of the foreigners in their country.
"The number of foreigners in their country is higher than the native population. That's why they stopped taking manpower from the seven countries including Bangladesh," he said.
