Md. Obaidur Rahman, secretary of the Ministry of Industries, has joined SME Foundation as chairperson.
He officially took charge at the SME Foundation office on Monday, says a press release.
The ministry issued a notification on January 1 this year, appointing him to this position. He will serve as the chairperson of the SME Foundation in addition to his regular duties as the secretary until a chairperson is reappointed.
Mr Rahman obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Department of Management at the University of Dhaka. He began his career as an officer of the 15th batch of the BCS (Administration) cadre. Throughout his long career, he has held significant positions in field administration as well as various ministries and government departments, including the Ministry of Public Administration.
Md Obaidur Rahman is the 9th chairperson of the SME Foundation.
