A mobile court of Chattogram district administration has slapped a total of Tk 40,000 fine on two business establishments for selling onions at high prices, reports BSS.
The mobile court, led by executive magistrates Towhidul Islam and Shirin Akhter, conducted a drive at Khatunganj onion market on Tuesday afternoon and fined Azim Bhandar, a wholesale trader of the market, Tk 20,000 for selling onions at high price.
Besides, the mobile court also fined Shah Amanat traders, another wholesaler, Tk 20,000 for the same reasons and instantaneously realised the money from the trader.
Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Ilias Hossain at a meeting with district law and order committee held yesterday cautioned the onion traders not to sell onions with high prices.
