MTB Foundation has recently signed an agreement with the Eye Care Programme of Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (ECP-MSS) to provide eye care facilities to the underprivileged segment of the country, says a press release.
Under the agreement, MTB Foundation and Manabik Shahajya Sangstha will jointly conduct eye camps in different areas of the country to provide comprehensive eye screening services and distribute eyeglasses to correct refractive error. A large number of cataract patients will also be selected for surgery at ECP-MSS partner hospitals.
Constructive sessions of awareness building regarding primary eye care will also be held, informative flyers will be distributed and posters will be displayed throughout these eye camps.
The agreement was signed by Md. Abdul Halim, Executive Director (Acting), MSS, and Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer (Acting), MTB Foundation, in presence of Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Deputy Managing Director-Corporate & Commercial Business, Goutam Prosad Das, Deputy Managing Director & Head of Group Internal Control & Compliance, Rais Uddin Ahmad, Deputy Managing Director & CAMLCO, and Mohammad Nazmul Hossain, Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. (MTB) at a simple ceremony held at the bank's corporate head office at Gulshan in Dhaka.
Among others, Tarikul Ghani, Adviser, Iren Akter, Sr. Programme Assistant-ECP from MSS, and Neherin Maqsood, Associate Manager, MTB Foundation, were also present.
Samia Chowdhury, CEO (Acting), MTB Foundation, said, "Healthcare has always been a priority sector for MTB Foundation and we are pleased to continue our support to ECP-MSS for fulfilling our joint mission to serve the underprivileged by providing them basic eye care services. MTB Foundation has conducted 14 eye camps, treated over 4,500 patients, where more than 550 operations were conducted on cataract patients since its partnership with ECP-MSS starting from 2019".
