National Semiconductor Symposium begins tomorrow

Bangladesh is set to take a significant step toward becoming a globally connected semiconductor and deep-tech innovation hub with the 'National Semiconductor Symposium & BEAR Summit 2026' beginning in Dhaka tomorrow (Saturday).
Organised by the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA), in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Silicon River Bangladesh program, the two-day Summit will bring together government leaders, global semiconductor industry executives, researchers, entrepreneurs, universities, investors, and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora to help shape the country's long-term semiconductor and deep-tech strategy, says a press statement.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will formally inaugurate the Summit and also officially open the BEAR Innovation Expo 2026 on Saturday.
The opening ceremony will feature remarks from M. A. Jabbar, President of BSIA; M. Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Rehan Asad, Adviser to the ICT Division; and Fakir Mahbub Anam Swapan, Minister for ICT and Science & Technology.
