NBR members get grade upgrades

Four members of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) have been promoted with the status of 'Secretary' after the government recently upgraded them to grade-I category.

The members are: Jahanara Siddiqui and Md Farid Uddin from customs wing and Syed Aminul Karim and Md Alauddin from income tax department.

The NBR members have long been lobbying the government for status raise from 'additional secretary' in line with the similar positions in other departments of the government and neighouring countries.
