New ESSAB board takes charge


The newly elected board of directors of the Electronics Safety and Security Association of Bangladesh (ESSAB) took office at a programme at Gulshan Club recently.
Md Niaz Ali Chishty took charge as the new president and Zakir Uddin Ahmed as secretary general of the association.
Outgoing president Zahir Uddin Babar, secretary general M Mahmudur Rashid and other members of the board handed charge to the new office-bearers.
SM Shahjahan Saju took over as senior vice-president, and Matin Khan, Mohammad Faisal Mahmud, Engr Md Monzur Alam and M Mahmudur Rashid as vice-presidents of ESSAB respectively.
Other board members are Md Mahmood-e-Khoda as joint secretary general, Engr Md Mahabur Rahman as assistant secretary general, Md Noor-Nabi as treasurer and Md Nazrul Islam as publicity secretary.
In addition, Md Wahid Uddin, Engr Md Al-Emran Hossain, Maj (retd) Mohammad Asheque Kamal and Md Rofiqul Islam took charge as directors.
New ESSAB president Chishty was the senior vice-president of the outgoing board.
Currently, he is serving as the director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
Fire Service and Civil Defence director (training, planning and development) Lt Col Md Rezaul Karim, BGMEA president Faruque Hassan, BKMEA executive president Mohammad Hatem and other business bigwigs were present.
