Software cos require BASIS membership

The government has made it mandatory for the country's software companies to obtain membership of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS). The department of trade organisation under commerce ministry issued a circular on September 02 to this end. The notice was sent to BASIS office on Wednesday. The government issued the circular as per article 13 of the Ordinance of Trade Organisation 1963 upon an appeal from BASIS in this regard. As per the circular, every software company must obtain BASIS membership for carrying out business in Bangladesh. Also, the membership certificate will be checked in all government and non-government sectors. BASIS president Syed Almas Kabir said after the government circular that BASIS is working along with ICT Division for building 'Digital Bangladesh'. The spectrum of ICT Industry is increasing. Therefore, the number of ICT companies is also increasing day by day. Under the umbrella of BASIS, the software companies will progress together. Seminar on career in BB held

Voice of Business, one of the most renowned organisations of the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS) of University of Dhaka, in collaboration with Eclectic Education organised a seminar and a workshop concerning career in Bangladesh Bank (BB), said a statement. A specialised seminar titled "Destination: Bangladesh Bank" was held at the premises of FBS, powered by Eclectic Education and in assistance with Voice of Business on Wednesday. The purpose of this seminar was to provide a guideline to interested parties about recruitment at Bangladesh Bank. Bangladesh Bank deputy directors Shakil Chowdhury, Nahid Ahmed and Moazzem Hossain took part in the event as discussants. They mainly talked about the question pattern and recruitment process of Bangladesh Bank. Further topics of discussion consisted of course description of Eclectic Education, Mock tests, Solution stage and general guidelines.— Statement
