FBCCI expresses concern over transport strike
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Monday expressed its deep concern over the prevailing transport strike called by the 'Sarak Paribahan Shramik Federation'. It said that the daily life of countrymen is being hampered and the economic activities are disrupted due to the strike. The apex trade body expressed the concern as the goods transportation are being hampered, and there are congestion in some places. The perishable goods are being rotted, and the farmers are facing economic loss, FBCCI added. Due to transport shortage, the industries are facing shortage of raw materials, shipments are being hampered and the exporters are facing losses, as they are compelled to send exportable goods by air cargo. The FBCCI urged all concerned to sit together and solve the crisis through discussion. For the sake of the nation and the country's economy, FBCCI also requested the labour federation to come back to their work.— Statement
CIS-BCCI team off to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan
A five-member business delegation of Commonwealth of Independent States- Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CIS-BCCI), headed by Md Ali Deen, Vice President of the chamber, is off to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on a trade mission. The team will have bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan Textiles and Garments Industry Association in Tashkent and ink an MOU with the association to have further bilateral business transactions at the private sector level as well as organising fairs in both the countries. — Statement
