Sweden introduces aviation tax
STOCKHOLM, Apr 01: Sweden introduced a new aviation tax on Sunday that will add an extra charge to all passenger flights from the country in a bid to lessen air travel's impact on the climate. "The objective of the tax is to minimise the carbon footprint of flights following a sharp increase in air travel," climate minister and Greens spokeswoman Isabella Lovin wrote in Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter. — AFP
S Korea's exports grow for 17th consecutive month
SEOUL, Apr 01: South Korea's exports, which account for about half of the economy, grew for the 17th consecutive month to March, a government report showed Sunday. The outbound shipment stood at 51.58 billion U.S. dollars in March, up 6.1 per cent from a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.— Xinhua
Ethiopia earns $42m export revenue from industrial parks
ADDIS ABABA, Apr 01: Ethiopia earned 42 million US dollars in export revenue from industrial parks during the first six months of Ethiopian Fiscal Year 2017/18 which started July 09, an Ethiopian official said on Saturday. Ethiopia is currently constructing or has constructed 15 industrial parks which it hopes will all be completed by second half of 2018, as part of efforts to be a top FDI destination and boost its export revenues. — Xinhua
