President Abdul Hamid Sunday said Nigeria can consider importing medicines from Bangladesh at a competitive price and its thriving pharmaceutical industry is now exporting quality drugs to a number of countries in the world, reports BSS.
"Bangladesh has a thriving pharmaceutical industry and is now exporting quality medicines to about 73 countries," the President said when High Commissioner of Nigeria to Bangladesh (Non-resident) Ndubuisi V Amaku made a farewell call on him at Bangabhaban, President's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told the news agency quoting the meeting.
During the meeting, the president also said Nigeria can also import knitwear, cement, jute, jute goods, ceramic ware and leather products from Bangladesh at competitive prices.
The President expressed his satisfaction at the present state of relations between Bangladesh and Nigeria.
He also said that agriculture and IT are the sectors where cooperation can be taken place between Bangladesh and Nigeria.
The Nigerian envoy thanked Mr Hamid for extending cooperation in discharging his duties.
Secretaries concerned to the president were present.
