No ongoing training for schools' digital lab teachers

December 02, 2023 00:00:00

The project director's office under the Sheikh Russell Digital Lab Establishment Project (2nd Phase) has notified that no training is ongoing for teachers of digital labs.

Teachers and all others concerned have been alerted to fake phone calls offering training and honourarium and they have also been advised to refrain from doing any transactions, according to a statement.

It is known that some vested quarters tried to get details about bank accounts, mobile banking, debit or credit cards over phone by pretending to be officials of the project director's office or the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

A total of 9001 digital labs were set up nationwide under the jurisdiction of the ICT Directorate and later, 300 'Sheikh Russell Schools of Future' were established in the 300 parliamentary seats.

36,020 teachers, four from every institution having the digital labs and schools received 10-day training on "Education Literacy, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance" in different batches aimed at lab maintenance. The training concluded in October 2023. Each trainee teacher was paid an honorarium. Currently, there is no ongoing training for the teachers under this project.
