Nurun Newaz elected NCC Bank chairman

Md Nurun Newaz Salim has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of NCC Bank at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank on Monday, says a statement.

Mr Newaz is an eminent industrialist and entrepreneur. He is the Chairman of Electro Mart Ltd. (manufacturer & supplier of well known brand KONKA & GREE) & Trade Internat-ional Industries Ltd.

Mr Newaz has been recognised as a Commercially Important Person (CIP) by the government. He was a Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) and previously served as a director of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

He is a former senior-vice president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industries and former chairman of Central Insurance Co. Ltd.

Mr Newaz is a life member of SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a member of Dhaka Club Ltd., Gulshan Club Ltd. and Purbachal Club Ltd., Dhaka.

He is also a member of Board of Trustees of Feni University. He is the founder of many educational and religious institutions in Feni.
