Oman Airways increases flights, facilities on Chittagong-Muscat route

Oman Air is taking initiatives to increase number of flights and put on service its wide-bodied aircrafts on Chittagong-Muscat considering the ever-increasing demands of the passengers. Side by side the company is taking measures to enhance passenger facilities including introduction of E-ticketing, boarding and checking arrangements, according to a press release.
Oman Airways Bangladesh country Manager Khandkar Asharful Kabir disclosed it during a press briefing at a gathering of the travel agents and tour operators at a city hotel, Chittagong on Saturday.
He told that most of the Bangladeshi immigrants in Oman, the most resourceful and prosperous country in the Middle-East, are from Chittagong. To facilitate the movement of the passengers from Chittagong region, Oman Airways expanded its services in Bangladesh through opening Chittagong-Muscat direct flights in 2007.
At the beginning, the airways operated five flights a week, which was, however enhanced to daily flight services responding to the demands of the travelling public since 2010. At the present moment a new generation 737 aircraft having 156 passengers capacity operates in this route daily.
Ashraful Kabir said, through its 4-star services for the last seven years, this state-owned airways has turned into a symbol of confidence and dependence of the people of this region. Consequently, the number of passengers has been increasing day by day .
It was further informed in the briefing that besides Muscat, passengers from Chittagong can travel to at least 41 destinations around the world onboard Oman Airways.
Among others, Oman Airways's GSA Managing Director Major Syed Mahmud Hasan (retd), ATAB's Chittagong Regional President Abu Taher, Secretary Mohammad Jamal Uddin and Oman Airways Sales Manager Pintu Bhattachriya were present on the occasion.
