State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal Wednesday assured formation of 'one-window service centre' for REHAB members comprising officials of Ministry of Home Affairs and REHAB.
The State Minister for Home Affairs said this at a meeting with executive committee members of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) at his Secretariat office in the city, said a press release.
REHAB executive committee headed by its vice president Liyakat Ali Bhuyian submitted two-point demand to the State Minister.
One of the demands is the formation of a 'one-window service centre' involving officials of Ministry of Home Affairs and REHAB to resolve extortion, threat and hazard-related cases against the REHAB members.
They said if there is any allegation against the REHAB members, the customer service and mediation cell of REHAB should be informed as per section 36 (1) and (2) of the Real Estate Development and Management Act-2010.
So the REHAB leaders requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to order the police stations to inform the REHAB cell before taking up any case against the association's members.
They informed the state minister that realtors are falling victims to extortion and receiving threats frequently. The realtors are also facing hazard as people file cases direct to police station violating Real Estate Development and Management Act-2010.
REHAB treasurer Mijanur Rahman Dewan, organizing secretary Md Saidul Isman Badal, joint treasurer Ansar Ali, REHAB executive member Md Abdur Rahim Khan, Abul Khaer Selim, Md Al-Amin, Sheikh Md Shoeb Uddin, Abu Bakar Siddique, Shafiq Rahman, Selim Akther Khan, were present, among others, at the meeting.
