Palli Sanchay Bank will use 485 upazila level offices of the 'Ekti Barhi, Ekti Khamar (One House, One Firm)' project as its branches from June 30, 2016 across the country, reports BSS.
The bank will start its activities through these offices as the project's term will expire on June 30, next year, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said. He was replying to a question from independent lawmaker M Rustom Ali Farazi in the House Saturday.
He said Palli Sanchay Bank would provide services to the rural people at the upazila level.
The minister informed the House that the government established Palli Sanchay Bank, a specialised bank for the poor people, to provide loan, advance and investment to poor and under privilege rural people.
The Palli Sanchay Bank has a plan to provide loan to only the Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar project's members/samities,  Mr Muhith added.
