The Savings Week-2014 being observed by the Department of National Savings (DNS) has received positive response from the people about usefulness of depositing money, said officials.
The event will conclude today (Friday). The DNS launched it on April 5 last across the country.
The seven-day promotional programme helped attract savers to invest in the state-run savings instruments, said the DNS officials.
"Our commitment is to attract the savers towards depositing money and increase customer services," said DNS Director Mahmuda Akhter Mina adding that they would fulfil their commitment.
The savings department took various awareness and promotional programmes in every district during the week.
The activities include launching campaign at the government and private organisations to inspire the officials to invest money in the national savings schemes.
The DNS officials also created awareness among the professionals, students and people of different communities about usefulness of saving money and urged them to become parsimonious.
