Plea to increase gas supply to Ctg industries

President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mahbubul Alam said lack of sufficient of gas supply has been causing severe blow to the RMG sector, real estate, steel and re-rolling mills, CNG filling stations and other industries of the port city, said a press statement.
Lying emphasis on exemplary punishment to the illegal CNG traders, the CCCI chief recommended forming a committee consisting of representatives of the CCCI, Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) and Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association.
Mr Alam was addressing a delegation of the Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners' Association at the Chamber office in Chittagong on Thursday.
Association President Md Amzad Hossain Chowdhury, Senior Vice President Abdul Quader Zilany and General Secretary Md Faridul Alam were in the delegation, among others.
The delegation also sought intervention against some KGDCL officials who allegedly resorted to 'irrational mis-behaviour' towards the business people.
Mahbubul Alam gave a patient hearing to the Association leaders and assured of holding meeting with authority concerned very shortly to solve the problem.
