PM to present 66 cos with export trophies on Sept 01

A total of 66 companies will be awarded the National Export Trophy 2016-17 for their outstanding performance in the export sector, according to the commerce ministry.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will present the companies with the awards.

The award giving ceremony will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital on September 01 next.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi will also be present at the ceremony.

"The companies have been selected for export trophies on the basis of their export performance," a commerce ministry official told the FE.

Gold, silver and bronze trophies will be presented to the business enterprises or establishments, the official said.

The commerce ministry had already announced the names of award-winning companies through a gazette notification.

Of the 66 companies, 29 had been selected for gold trophy while 21 for silver trophy and 16 for bronze trophy for the fiscal year (FY) 2016-17.
