CHATTOGRAM, Feb 10: The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) marked a historic milestone in the nation's maritime and logistics sector by officially inaugurating the Port Single Window (CPA SKY) on Tuesday.

This cutting-edge digital platform signifies a definitive shift towards a paperless and smart port management system.

The system was officially launched by Chairman of the CPA Rear Admiral S. M. Moniruzzaman. Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb (Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, Ministry of Posts, and Telecommunications & IT) joined at function virtually as the chief guest.

He said, "The implementation of this system will increase the overall efficiency of port operations by 3 to 5 times."

According to the CPA press release, while CPA previously utilised various digital tools, they operated in silos without Inter connectivity.

The new Unified Platform bridges these gaps, allowing users to access all services through a single, secure login. Integration of Digital Radar and an Automated Vessel Tracker allows for the live tracking of ship, while importers and exporters can now manage all approvals and cargo clearance through one platform, eliminating the need to visit multiple offices.

The CPA SKY will also remove gaps through seamless data sharing with the National Board of Revenue (NBR), banks, and other relevant government agencies, while enhancing transparency at every stage of the process, significantly improving the Ease of Doing Business.

This digital transformation (CPA SKY) is set to reduce manual labour, minimize delays, and elevate Chittagong Port to international standards of efficiency. The CPA expressed gratitude to the technical teams, stakeholders, and relevant ministries for making this successful implementation possible.
