Ports now have 24 quarantine stations

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Sayeedul Haque said Monday that the government has set up 24 quarantine stations at different entry points including international airports, seaports and land ports, reports BSS.
"The quarantine stations were established from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2017 under the animal diseases prevention and control project," he said in reply to a written query from a treasury bench member Nizam Uddin Hazari.
The minister said the quarantine stations were set up at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Shah Amanat International Airport, Osmani International Airport, ICD Kamalapur, Sona Masjid, Akhaura, Belunia, Banglabandha, Burimari, Darshana, Bibir Bazar, Bhomra, Hili, Benapole, Tamabil, Jokiganj, Sutarkandi, Kamalapur, Rohonpur, Birol, Teknaf and
Bituly landports, Chittagong and Mongla Seaports, he said.
Besides, he said, the government procured necessary equipment, furniture, pickups and motorcycles for the quarantine stations.
