Posmi Sweaters organises fire drill evacuation training

Posmi Sweaters Ltd., a leading 100% export oriented sweater manufacturing company, recently held their monthly Fire Drill or Emergency Evacuation Training in their factory premises. An approximate total of 2500 employees including workers, staff and management participated in the training.  Posmi has been conducting such training since March 2014 and as a result, during the recent earthquakes all the factory workers and staff were able to leave the facility less than three minutes without any casualty or hazard. At times of earthquake, few physically disabled employees were present at the factory premises. Posmi's dedicated rescue team of each respective floor helped the disabled employees to successfully evacuate the premises. Among them, Monika Tirki, Assistant Administrative officer, who cannot walk without the help of crutch and accommodates herself inside the medical room just nearby the main factory gate, also evacuated the premises with the help of Posmi's nurse Mst. Laila Akhter Lily, an active member of the Rescue Team. Posmi's Health and Safety Officer, MD. Mahabubul Alam, took the responsibility to safely evacuate his fellow employees and take them to safety and ensured the facility has been cleared completely.    — Statement
