Power outage caused by the recent nor-westerly storms has disrupted Robi's mobile telecom services in many areas of the country, says a press release yesterday.
Mobile telecom service is heavily dependent on availability of electricity. During planned power outage by the power authority mobile operators continue their service using alternative sources, the release adds.
However, given the prolonged power outage, power has not been restored in many areas. Due to this reason, Robi's mobile towers in Bogra, Naogaon, Comilla, Laxmipur and Sylhet districts have been affected the most and this is disrupting mobile telecom services in these affected areas.
In this regard, Robi expresses heartfelt thanks to Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) for their all-out support in restoring power in the affected areas.
Robi also apologizes to its valued subscribers in the affected areas for the temporary disruption to the mobile telecom services. Robi is closely working with BREB to normalize the situation at the earliest possible time. The company also thanks its subscribers for their kind patience in this situation.
Over the years Robi along with other mobile operators have expanded its network to cover the entire country.
