Syed M. Altaf Hussain, chairman of Pragati Insurance Limited, presiding over the 36th Annual General Meeting of the company held on Monday on a digital platform Pragati Insurance Ltd. Approved 35% cash dividend for the year 2021 in its 36th Annual General Meeting held on Monday on a digital platform.
This was the highest cash dividend since inception of the company. The meeting was presided over by Syed M. Altaf Hussain, Chairman of the company. Members of the Board of Directors Abdul Awal Mintoo, Khalilur Rah-man, M. A. Awwal, Moh-ammed Abdul Malek, Nasir Latif, Syed Muha-mmad Jan, Independent Directors Santosh Sha-rma, Hasinatun Naher, Muhammad Jamaluddin, Advisor Md. Rezaul Karim, CEO Syed Sehab Ullah Al-Manjur (ACII ), CFO Amar Krishna Shil, Company Secretary Syed Anisul Hoque and a large number of shareholders participated in the 36th AGM. The meeting approved the agenda of the 36th AGM through e-voting of the shareholders.
During the year 2021 the company earned gross premium of Tk 2,506.52 million. Profit before tax was Tk 524.20 million. Net claims settled during the year were worth Tk 222.67 million against Tk 127.29 million in 2020. Underwriting profit stood at Tk.408.99 million in 2021.The total asset of the company stood at Tk 5679.79 million in 2021.
