Prime Bank hosts seminar on financial inclusion at BUET

Prime Bank PLC in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and its Career Club organised a seminar titled "Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking" under its flagship PrimeAcademia initiative.
The keynote address was delivered by M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Consumer & SME Banking Division, Prime Bank. He highlighted how artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, and innovation are reshaping the future of banking, urging students to prepare for careers that combine technology, creativity, and purpose to drive inclusive growth, says a press release.
Shaila Abedin, Senior Executive Vice President & Head of Liability, emphasised the importance of female leadership, ethical banking, and values-driven decision-making in building sustainable financial institutions. She encouraged young women to come forward to take leadership roles.
M M Mahbub Hasan, Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion & School Banking, focused on financial literacy and money management, underscoring their role in empowering youth to make informed financial decisions. He highlighted how early exposure to structured banking knowledge can create financially responsible citizens and future leaders.
The academic perspective was shared by Dr. Ferdous Sarwar, Professor, Department of Industrial & Production Engineering, BUET, who stressed the need for stronger industry-academia collaboration to bridge the gap between education and real-world financial challenges.
