Quader urges expats to invest in infrastructure sector

Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader, who is presently visiting Singapore, Saturday urged Bangladeshi expatriates to invest in the country's infrastructure sector, reports BSS.

"Presently, investment-friendly environment is prevailing in Bangladesh. It is possible to get back the investment return in short time in Bangladesh," he said.

The minister was exchanging views with expatriate Bangladeshi businessmen at  the auditorium of Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore, according to a message received in the capital.

The minister said the present government is offering various types of incentives to foreign entrepreneurs for increasing Foreign Direct investment (FDI).

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Singapore Mahbub-uz-Zaman, leader of Bangladesh Business Chamber in Singapore Nasirul Islam Moni, Vice-President of Singapore-Bangladesh Society Engineer M Nurul Kaim and Engineer M Hafizur Rahman were present, among others.

The Bangladesh minister went Singapore to visit Singapore Metrorail and Elevated Express Way. From Singapore, Mr  Quader will go to China to sign an agreement for constructing a tunnel under the river Karnafuli.
