RAJSHAHI, Oct 3: Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) achieved the target of disbursing working capital loans for agriculture from the Stimulus Package announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The initial deadline for disbursement of Tk. 3.19 billion (319 crore) allocated by the Bangladesh Bank under this package was set to expire on September 30.
Subsequently, the Bangladesh Bank extended the deadline to December 2020, but RAKUB so far disbursed Tk. 3.21 billion (321.29 crore) exceeding the predetermined target for September 30, 2020.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of RAKUB Md. Raisul Alam Mondal and Managing Director of the bank A.K.M Sajedur Rahman Khan congratulated all the officers and staffs at the field level for achieving the target.
In addition, about 80 per cent of the target set by Bangladesh Bank for the CSME sector has already been distributed under the related stimulus package.
The bank management believes that it will be possible to achieve the target given by the Bangladesh Bank in this sector by October 2020.
The process of disbursement of loans in other sectors from the stimulus package announced by the Prime Minister also continues and the targets will be achieved in these sectors within the stipulated time.
