RAKUB recovers Tk 1.56b loans from borrowers

RAJSHAHI, May 26 (BSS): Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has recovered loans worth around Taka 1.56 billion (156 crore), including Taka 244.1 million (24.41 crore) classified loans from 8,163 borrowers through camps held in 383 branches simultaneously on May 24 and 25.

Of the recovered loans, Taka 771.4 million (77.14 crore) from Rajshahi division, while Taka 781.6 million (78.16 crore ) from Rangpur division and Taka 460 thousand (0.46 crore) from local principal office.

Through 383 branches, RAKUB has been operating its commercial activities in all the 16 northwest districts of the two divisions targeting the agricultural sector and all its sub-sectors, including agro-processing and industries.

Together with infusing dynamism into its loan recovery and deposit collection, the bank has launched online banking, Electronic Fund Transfer, A-chalan and SMS banking to supplement the government's efforts of building digital Bangladesh.

On March 23 last, the bank entered into the era of mobile App and internet banking aimed at bringing dynamism into its banking services.
