RAKUB to disburse Tk 12b loans

Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has set a target to disburse agricultural loan worth Tk 12 billion (Tk 1,200 crore under an incentive package loan programme in the country's northwest zone, reports BSS.

The loans will be disbursed among the targeted populations through the bank's 383 branches in all 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions within June, 2021.

The specialised commercialised bank will disburse the loan as part of the incentive package announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently to recoup the losses being caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

As the largest development partner in agriculture as well as agro-based industry sector of the northwest Bangladesh, currently, the bank has adopted the effective work plan which is being implemented at the grassroots level to cope with the troubled situation after the best uses of the special incentive package loan programme.

Meanwhile, the bank authority has disbursed loan worth Tk 4.1 million (Tk 41.06 lakh) under the special incentive package loan program among ten enlisted farmers at its LPO branch premises in Rajshahi city on Sunday through maintaining social distancing and other protective measures amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
