Ramzan Ali Pramanik joins as BWDB DG

Engineer Md. Ramzan Ali Pramanik joined as Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) on Wednesday, says the BWDB in a statement.
Prior to taking over as DG, he was serving as additional director general (west region) of the BWDB.
He passed the SSC exams in the first division from Abadpukur High School in Raninagar in 1980 and passed the HSC exams in the first division from the Govt Azizul Haque College in Bogura in 1982.
He graduated from the then BIT, Rajshahi (now RUET) in 1987 in civil engineering and received a gold medal from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for standing 1st class 1st.
In 2004, on scholarship from the Government of India, he obtained MSc. in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT, Roorkee, India.)
He joined the BWDB as an assistant engineer for the Teesta Barrage Project in 1989. Later he also worked for Muhuri Irrigation Project, Feni; , Rangpur; Khulna-Jesore Drainage Project, Karnaphuli Irrigation Project, and Sunamganj, Haor region, and many other projects.
During his 34 years of service with the BWDB he participated in various seminars and trainings in South Korea, Portugal, Vietnam and India.
Md. Ramzan Ali Pramanik was born in 1964 in Koyakunchi village under Raninagar upazila of Naogaon district. He is a life fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
