OraTech Consulting Ltd, a local IT company, has launched FireEye, a virtual machine-based security platform for real-time cyber threat protection, especially for the country's banking sector.
OraTech would market the security solution for large customers to ensure cyber security for the government and private sector bodies by providing better online service.
FireEye was launched at a programme at Dhaka Club on Wednesday evening in presence of officials of different commercial banks.
Terrance Tangit, regional director, growth markets, said FireEye has been invented as a purpose-built, virtual machine-based security platform that provides real-time threat protection to enterprises and governments worldwide against 'next generation' of cyber attacks.
"These highly sophisticated cyber attacks easily circumvent traditional signature-based defenses, such as - firewalls, IPS, anti-virus, and gateways," he added.
OraTech managing director Sheikh Kabir Ahmed said his company is dedicated to building a strong presence, with presales and support team for FireEye's coverage to all sectors of the country.
"Bangladesh's rapid development and economic rise have escalated the urgent need for advanced ways to protect critical assets. We are committed to support Oratech to bring FireEye MVX technology directly to all enterprises here," said channel director for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Serene Goh.
President of CTO Forum Kanti Sarker, and regional security consultant of FireEye Steven Ng, among others, spoke at the function.
FireEye Threat Prevention Platform provides real-time, dynamic threat protection without use of signature to protect an organisation across primary threat vectors and different stages of an attack lifecycle.
The core of FireEye platform is a virtual execution engine (MVX technology), complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block cyber attacks in real time.
FireEye has over 3,700 customers across 67 countries, including 675 of Forbes Global 2000, the company officials claimed.
