Regent Airways organised a 'Travel Partners Meet' in Bangkok, Thailand recently on the occasion of its fourth founding anniversary.
Managing director of Regent Airways Mashruf Habib attended the programme as the chief guest, said a statement.
Among others, chief advisor of the company Sam Kalathra Issac, head of Sales Erfhan Haque, head of Marketing and Holidays Anisul Alam Chowdhury Tuhin, general sales agent of Thailand J Ferdous Sagor and Airport Manager Kittisak Juranukul were present on the occasion.
The managing director said: "As a private company, Regent Airways wants to take ahead the aviation industry of the country. And that is why it has kept running the five international route including Bangkok".
He said, in the past, no Bangladeshi private company except Regent Airways could continue flight in Bangkok route. "But for that we had to encounter many challenges. Initially it became difficult to run flight in the route. In some cases, we even ran flight with only 20 passengers".
But now the situation has completely been changed. Every day the number of passengers is increasing. At present, Regent Airways is the only private company of Bangladesh that has flight from Bangladesh to Bangkok, he said. The flights are conducted three days a week from Dhaka and Chittagong.
He sought assistance from Bangladeshi people to keep running flight in the route.
