Rice, paddy procurement going on in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, July 11 (BSS):  The procurement of boro rice and paddy is going on in full swing in all the four upazilas of the district.

According to Chuadanga district food office source, a total of 4,628 metric tonnes of boro rice have been procured from the four upazilas of the district.

Of the total boro rice, 1,577 metric tonnes have been procured from Sadar upazila, 724 tonnes from Alamdanga upazila, 513 tonnes from Damurhuda upazila and 1,814 metric tonnes from Jibannagar upazila.

The procurement target of boro rice in the district was fixed at 6,643 metric tonnes.

A total of 654 metric tonnes of boro paddy have been procured from three upazilas of the district. Of which, 203 metric tonnes have been procured from Chuadanga Sadar upazila, 388 tonnes from Akamdanga upazila and 63 metric tonnes from Damurhuda upazila. No paddy was procured from Jibannagar upazila.

The procurement of both boro rice and paddy will continue till August 31, the source said.
